Missing Them

For friends and family members of those lost, the pandemic has changed the way they say goodbye.

Our rituals around death have been interrupted: We can’t come together or share in person. Mourning collectively and forging ahead have become all the more difficult.

While a virtual event is not a substitute for in-person gathering,THE CITY, along with a handful of community partners, want to bring New Yorkers together to tell and listen to the stories of those we’ve lost to COVID-19. - Join THE CITY and its partners for three days of remembering and connecting

Open Newsroom

LVN is proud to support the Open Newsroom, a project of THE CITY, a nonprofit newsroom based in New York City. The Open Newsroom is all about meeting people where they are, in person, to hear their concerns. COVID-19 made that impossible. THE CITY regrouped, got creative, purchased a Zoom account and made something they're excited about.

The goal is to work with the community to help fill information needs and gaps — and to connect residents to either the primary source of that information or to develop journalism together.
